Я люблю неологизмы, потому что они «рассказывают» о том, что происходит в мире вокруг нас. А так как мир я познаю через слова, то для меня изучение неологизмов очень актуально)
slactivism — это «активность» (activism) только «медленная» (slow), например, подписать какое-нибудь обращение в интернете: I had eventually come to the realization that wearing purple, or changing your avatar in support of spirit day, is an act of slacktivism…. Social Media like Facebook and Twitter have provided a space for slacktivism to exist.
viewbicle — от cubicle workspace (то есть небольшое, читай квадратное, рабочее место), но с видом (view): I was moved from a third floor ‘corner cube’ facing the parking deck to a tenth floor window cube facing the woods with a pole- a so-called ‘obstructed viewbicle.
technostress — стресс от слишком большого количества техники вокруг: The workplace is also a source of technostress, because changes in software programs, computers, hardware and communications are frequent in most industries.
nonversation — от conversation, бессмысленный разговор: There’s a 45-minute wait at the bus office until our coach leaves. Billy disappears to buy water and I strike up a nonversation (smile, nod, hello, Ingalis) with a Kurdish man with a scar on his cheek, who gestures for me to play the guitar.
ecotistical — о человеке, который очень высокого о себе мнения из-за того, что он весь такой «зеленый», то есть экология для него превыше всего: I thought why not change the “g” to “c” in egotistical, thus creating the word ecotistical. This is how I formally define it: Characteristic of those having inflated the truthfulness about their own environmental accomplishments. Characteristic of having an exaggerated sense of environmental importance. An environmental disregard of others.
