- I could not care less — меня это совершенно не заботит.
Изначально выражение значило ‘it would be impossible for me to care less than i do because i do not care at all’ меня бы не могло это волновать меньше, потому что меня это вообще не волнует. Очень ходовое! Советую запомнить;)
- To lack smth — не иметь чего-то (а lack — недостаток, отсутствие: a lack of ability):
This candidate lacks three votes to win.
The labels lacks information about the side effects of the drug.
Whoever decorated this room is lacking in good taste.
- To make a fuss over smth — поднимать ненужную суматоху из-за чего-то:
They made a fuss over a newborn.
Don’t fuss over things you can’t control.
The little boy’s mother made a fuss over him when he got hurt.
- To feel like doing smth — быть в настроении сделать что-то, быть не прочь сделать что-то
I feel like dancing.
I don’t feel like going out tonight. I feel a bit under weather. Lets stay at home ans watch some good movie and make our special cookies.
- Take your time! — Можешь не торопиться:
— I will try to come home at 7 tonight although I’m completely snowed under with work.
— Take your time then! I’ll meet with girls and as soon as you finish you’ll give me a call and we will have a lovely dinner at our favorite restaurant!
- It’s not my cup of tea — это не мой конек, я в этой теме не разбираюсь и вообще мне это не нравится (обычно используется именно not my cup of tea, а не утвердительный вариант):
‘I would like to have your opinion on Charles Dickens’ prose’ ‘Sorry, but classical English literature is not my cup of tea’.
